Federal law allows fines up to $75K for the 1st violation and $150K for additional violations.
The remedy for most individual or class-action lawsuits: the corporation must remediate its digital properties to conform to current WCAG standards and adhere to court-ordered monitoring for several years. The corporation must bear the costs of compliance and typically pay the plaintiff’s legal fees. These judgments have been affirmed by the US Supreme Court.
