| Use Case | User Type | Key Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Answers from your own content | Site owners | Crawls your sitemap, pages and PDFs to build a knowledge base, so replies stay grounded in what you actually publish |
| On-brand assistant | Designers | Set the assistant name, colors, avatar, bubble icon and greeting from Settings, with a live preview as you edit |
| Talk to a person | Support teams | A header button opens a short form, then emails the details and the full conversation to your notification address |
| Leads with CSV export | Sales & marketing | Every contact and handoff request is recorded with source, name, email, phone, message and date, exportable in one click |
| Voice in and voice out | Mobile visitors | A microphone button lets visitors speak their question, and a speaker toggle plays the reply back aloud |
| No API keys in wp-admin | Agencies | One site key, one subscription. Provider accounts, model access and usage billing all stay on the Lookit AI platform |
The agent reads your own content before it answers. Point it at your site and it works through the sitemap, or the homepage links if there is no sitemap, and stores the text it finds as a knowledge base. PDFs count too, both the ones in your Media Library and the ones linked from crawled pages.
The Knowledge manager has three tabs. Knowledge Base is for articles you write directly, when the answer is not on the site yet. Imported URLs holds crawled pages plus any address you add by hand, including external ones. Files is for PDFs picked from the Media Library. Clearing the crawl index leaves your own articles, added URLs and chosen files untouched.
Name the assistant, set its avatar, choose the bubble icon and write the greeting. Primary and accent colors are pickers, and a preview panel on the settings page updates as you type, so the widget is right before anyone sees it.
It runs as a floating widget in the corner you choose, or inline anywhere on the site through the [lookit_chatbot] shortcode. The widget can also open itself on exit intent or after a set time on the page, rather than waiting for a click. That behaviour is off until you switch it on, as are page awareness and returning-visitor memory.
Most assistants dead-end here. This one puts a Talk to a person button in the widget header, which opens a short form asking for name, email and phone. On submit, the details and the whole conversation go to your notification email and are saved to Leads. The submission is handled directly rather than by the AI, so the button works even if the conversation has gone sideways.
The Leads tab lists every captured contact and handoff request with its source, so a request to speak to someone can be told apart from a contact collected in passing. One click exports the lot as CSV. A Send Test Email button sits next to the notification address, so delivery can be confirmed before a real visitor depends on it.
The plugin is a thin client. It posts the conversation to the Lookit AI platform, and the platform calls AWS Bedrock and returns the reply. That means no provider account to open, no key pasted into wp-admin, no surprise token bill, and no key sitting in a database waiting to leak. You add one site key and the platform handles authentication, quota and billing behind it.
Voice works the same way. Speech is converted to text by Amazon Transcribe and spoken replies are generated by Amazon Polly, both server side through the platform, so the browser never talks to a provider directly. Nothing is sent at all until a visitor uses the microphone or the speaker toggle.
